The National Association of Dual Disorders Counselors was created to meet the increasing demand for a certification in dual disorders counseling and program for persons with less than a master’s degree.
NADDC’s Mission Statement
“Our mission is to lead, unify, and empower behavioral health professionals to achieve excellence through education, advocacy, knowledge, standards of practice, ethics, professional development and research.”
NADDC’s Vision Statement
“NADDC is the premier organization of behavioral health professionals who enhance the lives of individuals and families recovering from dual disorders ”
Dual disorders are the rule, not the exception. Despite its prominence in the literature and best practices, professional organizations and training programs have turned a blind eye to the need to prepare clinicians to work with persons with dual and multiple disorders. The National Association of Dual Disorders Counselors was formed to help bridge the gap between addictions and mental health programs, ensure adequate and efficient screening and assessment for dual disorders, encourage multidisciplinary treatment and assist agencies in cost-effectively meeting their performance goals.
